Sponsors, team franchisees vote for UAE as IPL host for 2014

The million dollar question of where the country's most glamorous sporting extravaganza, the Indian Premier League, will be hosted this year still hangs fire, with the cricket board deferring a decision despite Lok Sabha election dates being announced.

While the organisers of IPL 2014 could steer it to South Africa, the UAE or even Bangladesh, team franchisees and sponsors are rooting for the UAE, considering logistical ease and the short and cheap flights between the two nations.
